All customers must have a valid photo ID to enter any SQDC store. A photo ID may also be required at checkout. No virtual ID (e-wallet, photo) will be accepted.

No. Under the Act, persons under 21 years of age are banned from entering or being in a cannabis point of sale. In addition, SQDC staff will not sell cannabis to people clearly under the influence of alcohol or drugs or to anyone attempting to buy cannabis on their behalf.

All our in-store advisors have completed a thorough training program to familiarize them with the products and their consumption methods and effects. As a result, they are able to provide information to customers and ensure cannabis is sold in responsible manner. Feel free to ask them for advice. They will be pleased to assist you in selecting products appropriate for your needs, all with a focus on responsible use. See, also, the buying guide section.

Products

The SQDC sells a wide range of products that meet Health Canada's highest quality standards. For more information, see the Learn about cannabis  section.

Other types of cannabis products (vape pen, topicals) can now be sold in Canada. However, the SQDC does not carry all of them. To learn more about the products allowed and banned in Québec, see the New cannabis products in Québec article.

All cannabis products sold at the SQDC are grown in Canada and come exclusively from growers licensed by Health Canada. To protect users' health, all SQDC cannabis products meet the highest quality standards.

The SQDC sells several hundred products from various categories of cannabis. To learn more about cannabis and its effects and use, see the Learn about cannabis section.

Please note that the effects of a given product may vary from person to person and from time to time. Descriptions of effects are provided as indications only.

We recommend keeping cannabis products out of the reach of children and adolescents. Store cannabis products in an airtight container away from direct light and humidity. Do not keep them in the refrigerator, as the cold could create humidity and alter their taste and texture.

The availability of online products is shown and updated in real time on SQDC.ca. You can see the product availability status on the product details pages and on the product search pages :

After you ingest an edible cannabis product, the effects may take 60 minutes or longer to appear and may last up to 8 hours and sometimes more. If you have questions about safe doses and methods of use, see our Methods of use page.

It is very important to keep these products out of the reach of children, teens and pets. Store them securely to prevent accidental use and intoxication. To avoid overdosing, start with a small dose and wait several hours between doses. For additional advice on using cannabis responsibly, see the Responsible use section.

For health protection reasons, the SQDC will not sell any vaping products. Many cases of health problems among teenage and young adult vapers have been reported.

The SQDC

Our mission is first and foremost social, as it consists of selling cannabis at the retail level in a way that protects public health, the goal being to attract consumers to the legal cannabis market and keep them in it without actually encouraging cannabis use.

Buying your cannabis at the SQDC gives you access to a wide range of products whose quality and source are controlled by Health Canada. As all our products are clearly labelled, you can know exactly what is in the products you buy.

You also enjoy competitive prices that reflect product quality, a friendly and safe shopping environment and the expertise of our in-store advisors. And, of course, buying cannabis at the SQDC is legal.

Promoting the cannabis industry is not among our objectives. We act within the limits of the mission we have been given, namely to sell recreational cannabis with a focus on health protection in order to attract and retain users from the cannabis black market, all while not actually encouraging cannabis use. Under the Cannabis Regulation Act, the SQDC is forbidden from taking part in any form of advertising or promotion aimed at encouraging cannabis use.

The SQDC has openings for several interesting and stimulating positions in stores and at head office. For more information, see the Careers section.

For more information, see the Privacy policy  section.

The first stores were located in the most densely populated urban areas of the province. This was done in collaboration with the municipalities concerned, which had to indicate their willingness to have an SQDC store within their city limits. To be able to serve all of Québec from day one, the SQDC created transactional website alongside its store network. Our network of stores is now deployed in all administrative regions of Quebec. New points of sale will be added as necessary to meet market demand. The exact locations remain to be determined. For the locations of our stores, see the Find a Store section.

Our store network will be expanding throughout Québec in the coming years. The cities in which these future stores will be located remain to be chosen. The plans for the store network expansion are constantly evolving and will continue to be adapted to the demands the Québec market and as consensually as possible with the municipalities concerned. For the locations of our stores, see the Find a Store section.

Any profit that the SQDC makes will be turned over to the Cannabis Prevention and Research Fund.
